Birmingham Rowing Club - Birmingham, Alabama

The Birmingham Rowing Club is a recreational rowing club.

Our home waters are located in Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham.

The club at this time has about 32 members. Five to ten of our members come to row on Saturday mornings (weather permitting) at 9:00 am. However, the boathouse and dock are available for members to row at any time. There are equal numbers of women and men, college age through 60's. Everyone is very friendly, help each other have a good time, and like to welcome in newcomers.

Bill Bryant is the primary club leader and rowing instructor, assisted by the other members. We welcome rowers or would-be rowers of any age or ability, and we can work with physically challenged people who need the therapeutic benefits of rowing and getting out with people.

We have many members who are long-time rowers involved in competitions and rowing events. But we cater to novices extremely well also. It is a sport for all ages and skill levels. While it is a high skill sport, once you understand the basics, it is fun, relaxing and excellent full- body exercise.

Boats available for members and guests include 1 racing single, 1 racing double, 2 recreational doubles, a 4+, and 4 recreational singles.
